During the last little while there has been rampant excitement about Cecil the Lion's illegal shooting and what is happening to wildlife around the world. Our legislators moved quickly to craft a law that would make it illegal to import these illegally hunted animals into our country. Nothing wrong with that; it was the right thing to do.

But juxtapose that scene with what has been happening throughout the country in Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. Few Americans even bat an eyelash. Now we learn that body parts are allegedly being sold for profit. Even with the graphic depictions obtained by undercover videographers, we cannot get our legislators to pass any sort of law to stop the abortions. Not only that, we learn that women's health is being unnecessarily compromised in order to extract whole embryos by using special abortion techniques. What does it take to get any sort of reaction from our legislators, who fear that if they act it may damage their chances for re-election? As voters and Americans we should be ashamed of our current set of ethics — if indeed we have any conscience left at all.
