Brigham Young University quarterback Tanner Mangum, along with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, is featured in a video released Saturday by ESPN.
In the video, which opens with the choir singing "Hallelujah," Mangum discusses his recent football success but also shares what he learned by stepping away from the field to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"You really are isolated," Mangum said in the ESPN video about his mission to Chile. "You're kind of in your own little world down there, but it helped me learn a lot about myself, and it helped me realize that there are things more important than football, things more important than myself."
In the three-minute feature, Mangum talks about his game-winning passes in the Cougars' victories over Nebraska and Boise State, as well as how his life has changed since he became BYU's starting quarterback.
