LOGAN — Witnesses say a man killed after crashing his car into a traffic light pole Tuesday night appeared to impact the pole without braking, according to police.

Ryan J. Udy, 33, of Logan, was killed after his car crashed into a pole near 1000 West and 1400 North about 8:25 p.m. Tuesday.

"Witnesses who were at the intersection when the crash occurred told officers the car Udy was driving came through the intersection and drove straight into the traffic light pole. They stated it did not appear he braked and there was no other vehicle involvement," according to a statement from Logan police.

Udy was extracted from his vehicle by emergency responders but died at the scene.
