Former Lone Peak High School star basketball player Frank Jackson is set to be the starting point guard during his freshman year for the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils.

In a lengthy story Monday by ESPN's Dana O'Neil, Jackson, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, discussed his decision to immediately begin his career at Duke and not serve a full-time mission for the church after high school.

Having grown up with the desire to serve a mission, Jackson said the decision not to was very difficult, but he feels the position he is in at Duke will allow him to share his beliefs.

"I'm in the spotlight,'' Jackson said. "Everyone is watching us. I can use that as a chance to be a light in the world, in a sense, to show people how I live and what I believe."
