Lauren Shaw Taylor, a senior BYU swimmer, was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and Turbo Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

Taylor assisted the Cougars in a 178-83 win over Oregon State on Sept. 30. Participating in and winning two events during the meet, Taylor clocked a time of 2:05.71 in the 200 back and 1:56.31 in the 200 free.

This 2016-2017 season will be the third year that Taylor will swim for the Cougars. Taylor grew up in Kansas City and prepped at Park Hill High School under coach Karl Haley. After being recruited by several different schools, Taylor chose to come to BYU. Having placed several first, second and third-place finishes in her sophomore and junior seasons, Taylor will be an athlete to watch throughout her senior year.
