On Tuesday, with the help of actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Marvel Studios announced its new fundraising initiative, Hero Acts. Marvel is asking fans to help raise money for the Save the Children charity organization to purchase school supplies for children in the United States, Nepal and Haiti.

So how does Hero Acts work? “It’s easy,” Cumberbatch says. “To help us launch Hero Acts, post a photo of yourself in your favorite Marvel hero pose.” For every picture that is posted to marvelstudiosheroacts.com through the end of the year, Marvel will donate $5 to Save the Children for a maximum of $1 million. Marvel is also encouraging people to share their photos on social media with the hashtags #heroacts and #marvelstudios.

According to its website, Save the Children is a charitable organization that helps children in 120 countries, including the United States. It provides education opportunities, health and nutrition programs, protection programs and emergency response after natural disasters.

Cumberbatch stars as Dr. Stephen Strange in Marvel’s upcoming film “Doctor Strange,” which will open in theaters Nov. 4.
