The open house and rededication dates for the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple were announced by the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Friday.

The open house will run from April 22 through Saturday, May 20, 2017, and exclude April 23 and 30 and May 7 and 14. Reservations for the open house can be made at www.templeopenhouse.lds.org in the near future.

The temple will be dedicated in three sessions on Sunday, June 4. There will be a youth culture celebration the night before.

The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple was originally announced on March 3, 1937, by President George Albert Smith, the eighth president of the church. It was first dedicated on Sept. 23, 1945, and was the eighth operating temple of the church worldwide. The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple was closed in March 2015 for interior renovations. Other temples in Idaho include the Twin Falls, Boise and Rexburg temples with the Meridian Temple currently under construction.
