SALT LAKE CITY — The injury woes continue for the Utah Jazz.

Power forward Derrick Favors, an integral part of the Jazz's defense and offense, will miss Thursday's game against Chicago after being diagnosed with a bone contusion on his left knee.

Favors did not participate in Wednesday's practice and underwent an MRI test to determine the source of his left knee soreness. The Jazz power forward missed most of the preseason and was limited in Monday's loss because of that nagging injury.

The Jazz did not announce his status past this TNT contest (8:30 p.m.).

Utah is still uncertain whether starting point guard George Hill will be able to play after missing the past five games with a sprained right thumb. He partially participated in practice Wednesday but is listed as questionable.

The Jazz welcomed starting shooting guard Rodney Hood back to the team for Wednesday's practice, the first for the team in about two weeks. Hood missed the Memphis loss because of a nasty cold.

Guard Alec Burks (ankle rehab) continues to be unavailable.
