The snow has fallen. How long has it been?

You’re not seeing things. It really snowed in Utah on Thursday morning.

In fact, you may not realize it, but this was a record-breaking storm.

Wintry weather hit Utah overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, turning from a light rain into a heavy snowfall in the waking hours.

According to meteorologist Kevin Eubank and KSL Weather, we've now experienced our first freeze of the season — the latest first freeze ever recorded by the Salt Lake Airport. The previous record was Nov. 16, 1921.

Salt Lake also broke the record for the longest freeze-free period, which lasted 242 days from March 19 to Nov. 17, 2016. The previous record went 241 days from March 12 to Nov. 9, 1915.
