SALT LAKE CITY — Utah's unemployment rate dropped slightly last month to 3.2 percent.

That's two-tenths of a percent lower than the unemployment rate in September.

The state Department of Workforce Services on Friday announced that 48,600 Utah residents were unemployed and looking for work in October.

Utah's jobless rate has remained relatively low for the last several years as the state recovered from the economic recession.

The national unemployment rate fell slightly last month to 4.9 percent, down from 5 percent.
