The 2016-17 high school basketball season got underway last Tuesday with 44 games around the state. To prepare fans for what figures to be another exciting season of 2A basketball, the Deseret News has put together capsules for every team in 2A. Every coach was invited to participate and submit information.

The region rankings are based on coaches' preseason projections.

Here are the 2A teams and players to watch this upcoming season.

Their experience and leadership will be the hardest thing to replace, but we have a lot of girls with quite a bit of experience and we should be a deep team.
