Morning links: Gordon Hayward's big plays featured; Utah and BYU bowl projections

Gordon Hayward made some huge plays as the Utah Jazz crushed the Atlanta Hawks 95-68, and plenty of people took notice.

Dane Carbaugh of NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk looked at one of his huge defensive plays, saying, "Utah Jazz star Gordon Hayward lost the ball on Friday night. A dribbling, rolling basketball went through his legs and Atlanta Hawks forward Kent Bazemore scooped it up.

"Hayward knew he had to do something, so he used his length.

Carbaugh continued, "As Bazemore ran down the lane with the ball, Hayward followed closely but kept his distance. When Bazemore went up with the ball at the rim, Hayward pounced and delivered a huge chasedown block."

Slam Online looked at what Hayward did on the offensive end, sharing video of a pair of monster two-hand jams.

Bowl game projections for the Utes and Cougars

In his latest bowl projections, Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has Utah heading to El Paso, Texas, to face off against Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl.

Among his other projections, he has the BYU playing the Wyoming in the Poinsettia Bowl.

George Hill becoming a fan favorite

George Hill has made an impact since coming to the Utah Jazz, both on the floor and with the fans.

@Brobbbq on Twitter showed his gratitude for Hill while sharing a photo.
