For BYU . . . The Cougars, like Cincinnati, need two more wins to become bowl eligible. They are trying to rebound from a one-point loss at Boise State.


For Cincinnati . . . The Bearcats have won 30 consecutive non-conference home games. Their last non-league home loss came at the hands of Miami (Ohio), 31-26, in 2002.

For BYU . . . The Cougars have posted a 31-6 record in the month of November over the past 10 seasons.


Cincinnati will win if . . . The Bearcats win the turnover battle. BYU is No. 3 nationally in turnover margin at plus-11 and Cincinnati is tied at No. 36 with plus-3. The Cougars have 21 takeaways this season and the Bearcats have 19.

BYU will win if . . . The Cougars can put pressure on Cincinnati’s quarterback and score touchdowns in the red zone.


Gunner Kiel, Cincinnati quarterback: The senior, who is making his third straight start, has completed 41 of 78 passes for 514 yards, with six touchdowns and zero interceptions.


BYU’s defense vs. Cincinnati’s pass game: The Cougars were victimized by Boise State through the air. Can they contain the Bearcats’ receivers?
