Dixie State freshman goalkeeper Felicity Tarr was named Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer Freshman of the Week for her performances in two matches last week.
Tarr (5-foot-10; Tucson, Arizona/Mountain View Marana HS) went 1-1 in two starts during the Trailblazers’ season-ending home stand. She collected three saves on eight total shots faced in a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 31, as Tarr and the DSU defense held the PacWest’s top-scoring team to just one goal. In her next start against Concordia-Irvine (Nov. 3), Tarr made a career-high four saves, but she and the Trailblazers came up on the short end of a last-minute 1-0 loss to the Eagles on a free kick goal with 38 seconds to play in regulation.
Dixie State wrapped up its 2016 regular season with an 11-7-0 overall record and finished in a tie for third place in the PacWest standings at 9-4-0 (27 points).
