Christmas is synonymous with gift-giving, but not all gifts can be wrapped up with a bow.
“Every day, not just at this Christmas season, you are an innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus,” according to the introduction of “The Gifts of Christmas.”
“The Gifts of Christmas” shares 25 suggestions of things to do to make room for the Savior throughout the year. With each suggestion there is an overview with quotes from leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and scriptures to explore each point, from “Pray with Sincerity” to “Love Your Neighbor” and “Gain a Testimony of a Gospel Principle” to “Regularly Attend the Temple.”
While each one may seem short, there is plenty for readers to consider in their personal lives about each topic as a starting point for further study.
The items in the book are meant to be suggestions, according to the introduction.
“There are others that may also occur to you; search your heart until you find exactly what you want to give,” the introduction says. Readers are then encouraged to write that idea down and periodically check that as a reminder.
“The Gifts of Christmas” is nicely formatted with each item and is a good reminder of things that matter most not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.
