College football recruiting: Ohio State coach attends church with Bingham star Jay Tufele

All throughout last week, college football prospects welcomed coaches from around the country into their homes as recruiting for the Class of 2017 hits the home stretch.

After receiving visits from USC and Michigan coaches on Wednesday and Friday, respectively, Bingham High School star defensive tackle Jay Tufele certainly had a unique visit with Ohio State assistant head coach/defensive line coach Larry Johnson on Sunday.

Tufele in the afternoon tweeted two photos of himself with Johnson and some members of his congregation at church.

Tufele told the Deseret News Johnson approached him with the idea prior to coming to the Beehive State.

The 37th-best prospect in the country according to Scout.com, Tufele tweeted a few hours later that University of Utah coaches Morgan Scalley, Justin Ena and Lewis Powell visited him in his home.

Tufele is considering seven schools, including USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Utah, BYU, Washington and UCLA.

National Signing Day is Feb. 1. Tufele has indicated he'll likely wait until then to commit to a school.
