Utah Valley University men's soccer had four players named to the 2016 NSCAA All-West Region Team on Tuesday, led by first-team selections Paul Hoffmeister and Skyler Milne. Alex Neff and Mitch Jensen were named to the second team, in a vote by coaches from the region.
"I couldn't be more proud of Skyler, Paul, Alex and Mitch being named to the NSCAA All-West Region teams," said Maas, who was named the 2016 WAC Coach of the Year. "It's a well-earned and deserved honor for each of them, and our entire team can take tremendous pride in our program's recognition at such a distinct level."
It's the second time Milne and Neff have been named to the All-West Region teams and the first for Hoffmeister and Jensen. All four were first-team All-WAC selections after leading the Wolverines to a WAC regular season title and a school-record 15 wins.
Hoffmeister led UVU with nine goals and last week was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America second team. Milne scored eight goals, while Neff added a pair of goals and earned his third-straight All-WAC first-team selection at defender. Jensen started 10 games, recording five clean sheets, and was also a part of another combined shutout. His .467 goals against average ranks second in the country.
The West region consists of schools from the WAC, the Missouri Valley and the Summit League.
