WEST BOUNTIFUL — A Bountiful man has been charged in two separate cases of abusing or threatening to abuse young children.
Thomas Bryon Elliott, 35, was charged last week in one case with two counts of sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony. In another case he was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony, and enticing a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
In November, Elliott texted a 15-year-old girl, telling her, 'I'd love to take your virginity,'" charging documents state. A search warrant affidavit served in December by West Bountiful police stated: "The sender of the messages knew (the teen's) name, and even what she was wearing that day, so it was felt he was close in proximity to her home. He sent messages telling her he was an adult and he had the 'hots' for her."
The girl "knew this was a bad situation and attempted to have the sender send some information to identify who he was," according to the affidavit. The man had the girl try to guess his name and said he would tell her if she guessed correctly. Police say one of the names she guessed was Tommy.
After the girl and her mother called police, who then went to Elliott's trailer to question him, a 10-year-old girl came forward and claimed that in 2014 Elliott had kissed her and rubbed against her on two different occasions, the warrant states.
When investigators later searched Elliott's phone, they found "several pornographic images of children who appear to be under the age of 18," according to the charges.
