Dixie State senior center Taylor Mann was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Second Team, the group announced Monday.

Mann, who also earned Pacific West Conference First Team honors, finished the season as the only player in the PacWest to average a double-double with a league-leading 20.1 points and 13.4 rebounds per game, ranking in the top 15 nationally in both categories.

She earned PacWest Player of the Week honors a conference-high four times and became the third Dixie State women’s player to score 1,000 career points (1,062) and second to score 500 single-season points (522). Mann also set the DSU single-season rebounding record with 349 rebounds this season. She ends her DSU career as the all-time (841) , single-season (341) and single-game rebounding leader (26) as well as second in all-time scoring (1,062).

She recorded a DSU record 22 double-doubles on the season, the most in the PacWest and tied for the most nationally. She finishes her career with 41 double-doubles in a Red Storm uniform, the most in program history. Mann scored a season-high 29 points twice, at California Baptist in December and vs. Holy Names in February. She closed the season with 26 points and tied her own program record with 26 rebounds in a Senior Night win over Concordia.

Mann, who carries a 3.92 GPA in elementary education, was also named to the 2015-16 CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Azusa Pacific forward Kelly Hardeman was named 2016 D2CCA West Region Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. Joining Hardeman as first-team selections are Megan Mullings (Alaska Anchorage), Farrah Shokoor (UC San Diego), Cassidy Mihalko (California Baptist) and Jasmin Guinn (Academy of Art)

All five players on the first-team now move on to a national vote and are eligible to earn a spot on the D2CCA All-America team.

The PacWest landed three players on the second team with Mann (Dixie State), Kamille Diaz (California Baptist) and Allyssa Weathered (Dominican), followed by a pair of California Collegiate Athletic Association in Breanne Garcia (Cal State Dominguez Hills) and Tori Breshers (Cal State East Bay).

In total, the PacWest landed six players on the all-region team, followed by the CCAA with two and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference one. The 2016 D2CCA All-West Regional Women’s Basketball teams were nominated and voted upon by the region’s sports information directors.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and work closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
