For Lexi Eaton, marrying into the Rydalch family did not just mean blending two families; it also meant blending two rival teams.

KSL reported on the opposing loyalties that exist between Lexi Eaton Rydalch, a senior on the women’s basketball team at Brigham Young University, and her father-in-law, Mark Rydalch, a former basketball player at the University of Utah.

Lexi Eaton Rydalch scored 776 points for BYU this season. The West Coast Conference named her the 2016 player of the year.

Her father-in-law played for the University of Utah and made it to the NCAA Sweet 16. Despite his allegiance to the Utes, Mark Rydalch cheered for his daughter-in-law during the West Coast Conference tournament in Las Vegas.

"I won't wear the logo, won't stand for the school song, but I'll stand up and cheer for Lexi," Mark Rydalch told KSL. "I don't even know the words to the fight song. I get sick to my stomach a little bit when it starts playing.”
