COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — The Utah Department of Transportation has received funding to make improvements to Wasatch Boulevard this summer.

UDOT plans to widen the road into the existing shoulder to accommodate bicycle lanes. The bicycle lanes will extend from the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon to the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon on both sides of the street.

Additionally, the steep, eroding hill above the intersection at Fort Union Boulevard will also be improved to prevent rocks from falling onto the road.

Finally, the entire roadway will receive a new overlay. Work is expected to begin in June.
