Dixie State’s women’s golf team finished in 14th place after the final round of play at the 2016 BYU Entrada Classic on Tuesday at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George.
DSU (343-342-341) carded a final round +53 341 to finish with a three-round total of 1,026 (+162) on the par-72 course. Host BYU (293-295-300) led wire-to-wire to win its own tournament with a team score of +24 888, 17 shots better than runner-up Iowa (299-306-306, 911) at +47 and 29 strokes clear of third-place San Francisco (311-305-301, 917) and Boise State (303-309-305, 917) at +53.
Sophomore Cobair Collinsworth (87-82-82) posted DSU’s low round of the day with a 10-over 82 to finish in a tie for 67th with senior Shelby Madden (80-84-87) at +35 251. Sophomore Justine Connell (86-87-87) placed t-74th at +44 260, followed by sophomore Sarah Folks (90-89-85) in 78th at +48 264 and senior Maddy Fedoruk (93-91-101) in 80th at +69 285. Freshman Mei Brennan (89-98-94), playing as an individual, wound up 79th overall at +65 281.
Dixie State wraps up its 2015-16 regular season schedule at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate, which will be played at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona, on April 1-2.
