The NCAA men's basketball tournament kicks into high gear Thursday with 16 games on the schedule.
On Wednesday, two lists highlighted a pair of local players who could have a major impact during the opening days of the tournament.
In a ranking of the 68 best players in the field, Yahoo's Jeff Eisenberg slotted Utah's Jakob Poeltl No. 5 and Weber State's Joel Bolomboy No. 41.
As far as Runnin' Ute and Wildcat opponents go, Eisenberg put Xavier's Trevon Bluiett No. 39 and Fresno State's Marvelle Harris No. 65.
Elsewhere, USA Today's Scott Gleeson identified Bolomboy as one of 11 under-the-radar stars who can drive a Cinderella run and bust brackets. Harris is also on that list.
Kalani Sitake dances at BYU men's basketball game
We'll have to wait until September to see how Kalani Sitake performs as BYU's new head football coach, but on Wednesday he proved that his dance moves are stellar.
During the Cougar men's basketball team's win in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament against UAB, Sitake busted out The Robot during a timeout in the second half.
Eric Weddle discusses shaved beard at Baltimore Ravens press conference
Former University of Utah safety Eric Weddle was introduced as the newest member of the Baltimore Ravens at a press conference on Wednesday, and naturally he was asked about the now-shaven beard he sported while with the San Diego Chargers.
"I'm regretting it by the second that I shaved it," he said. "It was a spur-of-the-moment...It was almost three years I had it. It was awesome."
