Fresh off a pair of tournaments in St. George, Utah, this past week, the Utah Valley University women's golf team heads to Roseville, California, to take part at the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 21-22. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be contested at the Sierra View Country Club and open play on Monday morning.
Two rounds of play will take place on Monday, while the final 18 holes will be contested on Tuesday. All three rounds will feature live results by visiting GolfStat.
A total of 15 teams will take part of the Sac State Invite, as Cal Poly, CSUN, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, North Dakota, Northern Colorado, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle U, Weber State, UVU and the host Hornets will compete at the tournament.
The Wolverines enter the tournament on the heels of a ninth-place finish out of 14 teams at the BYU Entrada Classic at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club on March 14-15. There, UVU finished with a three-round score of 83-over-par 947 (317-313-317).
Prior to the Entrada Classic, UVU tied for sixth out of 13 teams at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational on March 10-11, with a two-round total of 620 (+44) with scores of 309 and 311.
Senior Kalea Heu led the way for the Wolverines at both tournaments by tying for 12th at the Thunderbird Invite with a 7-over-par 151 (75-76) and tying for 27th at Entrada with a three-round total 18-over-par 234 (75-80-79). The tournaments marked the fourth-straight time that Heu has been UVU's top finisher.
Following the conclusion of the Sacramento State Invitational, UVU is off until April 4-5, when it heads to Maricopa, Arizona, for the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
