Utah Grizzlies: Utah plays at home Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

The Grizzlies (34-25-3-2) play five of their remaining eight regular season games at home as they trail Idaho by five points for first place in the standings with one head-to-head game remaining on Wednesday, March 30.

With their win Saturday, the Grizzlies guaranteed their third-straight winning season since Tim Branham took over as coach and their 18th season out of 22 years in which the team will have finished .500 or better.

Ryan Hayes, who scored with 3.3 seconds left in overtime on Saturday as the Grizzlies beat Colorado, 2-1, has now scored two goals in the final nine seconds of overtime this year after he scored with nine seconds left to beat Atlanta on Feb. 17. Hayes has scored a goal in five of the Grizzlies last six games.

Alex Krushelnyski has a nine-game scoring streak, the second longest running streak in the ECHL, with three goals and seven assists for 10 points in the last nine games.

The Grizzlies have scored power-play goals in six of their last seven games and currently sit fourth in the ECHL with 46 power-play goals.

The Grizzlies currently have three nearly point-a-game forwards from the Anaheim organization, a defenseman who leads the team in plus-minus and Ryan Faragher improved to 22-12-2-1 Saturday by stopping 39-of-40. Charlie Sarault has 17 goals and 37 assists for 54 points in 59 games. Bryan Moore has four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 11 games, and Matt Berry has 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points in 31 games. Eric Knodel leads Utah defenseman with a plus-seven.

Faragher has allowed one goal or less in 11 of his 36 starts this year and two goals or less in 17 of 36 starts. Faragher has allowed no goals through the first two periods in seven games this year.

Utah plays four of its final eight games against current ECHL playoff teams (based on winning percentage), Idaho plays seven of their final eight games against current ECHL playoff teams and Colorado, with four games remaining against Idaho, looks to make a third place to first place jump with seven of its nine remaining games on the road.
