SALT LAKE CITY — Thousands of Utahs flocked to three separate presidential rallies in the state on Friday.

Democratic candidate and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke at This Is the Place at Heritage Park Friday in front of throngs of fans. Sanders is trying to drum up support for his long-shot bid for the nomination against front-runner Hillary Clinton.

In the GOP race, Donald Trump arrived late but spoke at the Infinity Event Center, 26 E. 600 South, Friday evening. Both protesters and supporters of the Republican front-runner flocked to the area, but no major incidents were reported.

Supporters visited three locations to rally for GOP Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Kasich held town hall meetings at Davis High School in Kaysville, the University of Utah and Utah Valley University in Orem.
