WEST JORDAN — The Salt Lake County Library system is inviting Utah teenagers to participate in Hackathon — an interactive science, technology, engineering and mathematics event sponsored by Google Fiber.

The free event, which is part of Teen Tech Month, is set for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the Viridian Event Center, 8030 S. 1825 West.

The Hackathon will include peer–taught technology workshops, 3-D printing and the opportunity to build a robot.

In addition, teens can enter a Creatables contest, also sponsored by Google Fiber, for a chance to win up to $1,500 in a Utah Educational Savings Plan.

The contest runs through March 31. For contest rules, examples of a Creatable or to submit an entry, visit util.slcolibrary.org/2016TeenTechMonth/index.cfm.
