One of the first songs Alexey Romanov, 15, learned on the piano was “Jingle Bells,” which was a difficult task because Romanov was born without fingers.

A YouTube video uploaded in February shows Romanov playing “River Flows in You” by Yiruma.

According to Maya’s Hope, a charity organization, Romanov was born without fingers on his hands and without toes on one foot. His mother abandoned him after birth, and he grew up in an orphanage until age 12, when he was adopted.

In an interview with Ruptly TV, Romanov said he has only been playing the piano for a year and a half.

"I always liked classical music,” Romanov told Ruptly TV. “A long time I only thought about it but in the end I decided to try to play. At first I played the simplest things such as 'Jingle Bells' but now I can learn some more serious works."
