Letter: Communism in Cuba

Read the history of Cuba and how it changed from America's favorite vacation destination to a communist state. It will break your heart. These people were seeking a change of direction in their leadership and supported Castro as the alternative to Batista. They quickly found that Castro was not a friend of the people. Over 30,000 dissidents were killed within a few months, which immediately got the attention of the people and let them know what to expect if they didn't "go along" with the new leadership. The government took over the communication systems and then agriculture and eventually all business became state owned without compensation to the owners. The small children were indoctrinated at school and parents were afraid to contradict what they were being taught because of the cruel consequences. America, beware! Let's elect a leader with integrity; someone who loves America and democracy first and foremost.
