Glen Canyon National Recreation Area names superintendent

PAGE, Ariz. (AP) — The acting superintendent of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has been named to the job permanently.

William "Billy" Shott has spent 22 years working for the National Park Service as a ranger, supervisor and manager. Intermountain Region director Sue Masica announced Thursday that Shott will oversee the recreation area in Arizona and Utah, and Rainbow Bridge National Monument.

Shott most recently served as the Intermountain Region chief ranger.

He says he worked at Glen Canyon early in his career and is humbled and honored to return as superintendent.
