Letter: Utah's political situation

Your editorial plea for Utah’s to vote in the June 28th primary is extremely naïve. Because of redistricting by the Utah State Legislature, thousands and thousands of Utahns are suffering from taxation without representation.

The editorials keep telling us to vote, when people know full well the Utah State Legislature has manipulated the voting boundaries so that the Republicans will never lose. Democrats don’t vote because it’s futile, and Republicans don’t vote because they know they’re going to win.

If you want Utahns to vote, talk to the Utah State Legislature and ask them to make the voting boundaries fairer to both Democrats and Republicans. As the boundaries stand now, the Democrats are always going to lose, and the Republicans are always going to win, so why vote?
