LINDON — Police have identified the woman who was killed in a crash on Geneva Road this week.

Vanessa Hernandez Morano, 26, was killed when the car she was in turned left to enter 200 South from Geneva Road in Lindon and was hit by an oncoming Toyota Tundra truck around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Morano, who lived in Orem and had recently lived in El Salvador, was in the back right passenger seat of the car and was impacted directly, said Lindon Police Chief Cody Cullimore.

Morano's 7-month-old daughter was in a carseat next to her and was not injured despite heavy damage to her car seat, Cullimore said. The driver of the car, a 20-year-old man from Guatemala who is Morano's cousin, suffered only minor injuries.

The police chief said the car Morano was in failed to yield and "made a bad left turn." No impairment or other factors are suspected in the crash, he said.

The driver of the northbound Tundra, a Pleasant Grove man in his 20s, was uninjured. His vehicle was pulling a trailer filled with dirt at the time.
