LOGAN — Police on Tuesday released the name of a 13-month-old boy who died Monday after a neighbor's vehicle hit him while backing out of a driveway.

Wyatt Crockett was playing with other neighborhood children near 1700 South and 1330 West. The boy's mother, who had been watching them, went inside her house for a moment. During that time, Wyatt apparently wandered into the roadway.

A 32-year-old man who lives across the street was backing up his SUV and hit the child. Wyatt was transported by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remained under investigation Tuesday. Logan Police Capt. Curtis Hooley said drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors, and the incident appears to be nothing more than a tragic accident.
