After weeks of keeping their fans in anticipation on social media, the members of BYU's Vocal Point uploaded their newest music video, “When She Loved Me,” from Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 2.”
“Grab the tissues! Remember when … Jessie sang this song? We hope you’ll share this with someone who knows this feeling,” read a post on the a capella group's Facebook page.
Leading up to the video's release, BYU Vocal Point's twitter account frequently asked fans to guess the song they would soon cover as it revealed small hints.
We are within hours of our video release!!!! Any last minute guesses what song it's going to be???— BYU Vocal Point (@BYUVocalPoint) June 21, 2016
“When She Loved Me” is one of the group’s “more serious videos,” according to an Instagram post.
The song was originally sung by Sarah McLachlan “from the perspective of Jessie, about how she was once loved by a young girl named Emily, but eventually forgotten as she grew older,” according to Disney.wikia.com.
“Inspiration for the song came at a quiet dinner between a VP (Vocal Point) member and his wife at a classy restaurant,” according to a tweet leading up to the release of the video.

The night before the music video was filmed, Cody Phillips, a member of BYU Vocal Point, found vases of dried flowers in a dumpster outside his apartment. The group ended up using them in the video, and Phillips said they were a great visual representation of "something that was once beautiful, but with time had become faded," according to a video in another BYU Vocal Point Instagram post.
The eight other current members of BYU Vocal Point are Devin Flake, Jordan Hale, Adam Heimigner, Kyle Lemperle, Spencer Myler, Carl Prince, Bryce Romney and Logan Shelton.
