Morning Links: BYU basketball fans proclaimed best in the west; Jazz, NBA wish Rudy Gobert happy birthday

The BYU basketball Twitter account proclaimed that Cougar fans were the best fans in the west in attendance for the seventh season in a row:

BYU finished No. 1 in the west and No. 14 overall last season in men's basketball attendance, averaging 14,699 fans per game. According to the official NCAA attendance records, the Cougars barely edged out Arizona of the Pac-12 by a mere 173 fans per game last season. But first place is first place no matter the margin.

Ute fans also made the rankings at No. 24 in the nation and No. 2 in the Pac-12 with an average of 12,997 fans per game. Utah State was No. 52 with 8,874 fans per game.

Happy birthday, Rudy Gobert!

Jazz center Rudy Gobert celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday, and that fact didn't go unnoticed on Twitter. Both the Jazz and the NBA congratulated the Stifle Tower:

Cholet Basket, Gobert's former team in France, also took to Twitter to wish "joyeux anniversaire" from his homeland:

Cholet Basket also celebrated Gobert's birthday on its website with a video of all 96 of Gobert's dunks during last season. Sounds like a better birthday present than the typical birthday card.

Dante Exum ready for his comeback

Dante Exum told Roy Ward of the Melbourne newspaper The Age that he's ready for a comeback after missing last season with a knee injury. According to the story, Exum plans to be back to full fitness by the Jazz' training camp in October.

Exum also approved of Utah's trade for point guard George Hill.

"It helps the team and even for me selfishly — having another point guard and an experienced guy means that with me coming off an injury I can learn off him which will be really good."

Exum mentioned that he would like to play in the Olympics, but rest assured it won't be this summer in Rio. Instead, Exum has his sights on Toyko in 2020.
