OGDEN — An Ogden man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Harrison Boulevard at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, police said.
The 29-year-old was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius when he was hit head-on by a 2008 Ford Mustang. The Mustang was traveling south when the driver lost control and veered into northbound traffic, hitting the Prius, police said. The Prius then spun and collided with a 2012 Dodge truck pulling a trailer.
The male driver of the Dodge was unharmed.
The 20-year-old driver of the Mustang sustained minor injuries, according to police. He lost control of the vehicle when a car merged into the lane directly in front of him, police said.
“Speed was definitely a factor in this crash,” Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon said.
Police were still investigating Thursday whether the driver of the Mustang was impaired and how fast he was driving. Damage and debris at the scene suggest the Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed, Eynon said.
Witnesses at the scene estimated the Mustang was going between 60 and 80 mph, according to police.
