Photos: Half-scale replica of Vietnam Memorial on display in West Valley

Brian Williams of the Utah Military History group helps assemble the Wall That Heals in West Valley City's Centennial Park, 5405 W. 3100 South, on Thursday.

West Valley City will host the 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, along with a mobile education center over the 4th of July holiday.

The Wall That Heals is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and honors the more than 3 million Americans who served in the U.S. armed forces during the Vietnam War. Its walls bear the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam, including the names of 361 Utahns.

The Wall That Heals recognizes that not all may have the opportunity to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and aims to give veterans and their family members all across America an opportunity to see the memorial.
