SANDY — A man was transported out of Bell Canyon in fair condition after falling Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old man was hiking with a female hiker, who called for help when her companion fell about 20 feet near a waterfall and reported not being able to feel his legs, according to Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell. He said a search and rescue team was called to locate the duo.

Police have previously cautioned hikers and climbers who go to the popular canyon to be careful near the wet rocks in the canyon, as they are slippery.
