Obama is rallying us to believe that dismantling and reducing our nuclear weapons will make the USA a safer place for our children. However, we know that other countries are amassing weapons of mass destruction, no matter what agreements they have made with the USA.
Obama's visit to Hiroshima was probably to reminisce how many Japanese people were killed by the atomic bomb in 1945. Of course, the fact that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, killed thousands of Americans and occupied many islands in the South Pacific does not seem to be of much importance.
Does dismantling and reducing nuclear weapons protect our children from future atrocities? I think not.
