Photos: Hospital's Summer Fest brightens patients' day

Penney Pedersen gets a stuffed animal during a Summer Fest celebration at Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Approximately 100 patients and their families attended the festival, which featured pony rides, a climbing wall, a jumbo inflatable slide, face painting, a teddy bear clinic, an old-fashioned popcorn machine and a shave-ice truck. The hospital holds quarterly parties to give patients the chance to socialize with their peers facing similar physical challenges.
