Photos: New Utah license plates to help with memorial's upkeep

Brian Clement kneels to view the great seal on the Utah Law Enforcement Memorial on the Capitol grounds in Salt Lake City on Thursday. Clement was at the Capitol to attend an event where Gov. Gary Herbert ceremoniously signed HB167, creating a law enforcement license plate to support the upkeep of the memorial, which is dedicated to the lives of Utah's fallen law enforcement officers. Rep. Lee Perry, R-Perry, who proposed the bill, told the Deseret News in March that the funds from the sale of the licence plates would be used for flags and plaques, as well as adding names to the monument. The Utah Division of Motor Vehicles requires 500 applications for each plate before beginning production. The plates cost $35.
