YouTube singer Evie Clair, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sang a cover of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” as a tribute to her father, who has stage 4 colon cancer.
At the conclusion of the song, Richard Sharrah (Bored Shorts), Hailey and Mila Smith (from the movie "Once I Was a Beehive"), Sara Arkell (The Piano Gal) and violinist Rob Landes give tributes to Evie’s father, Amos Abplanalp.
Clair teams up with Spencer Jones, who appeared as a vocalist for Cinematic Pop on this season of "America’s Got Talent."
Clair decided to cover “Eye of the Tiger” because it was the song her father would listen to to get pumped up for wrestling matches when he was younger. She hopes he can use the same song to beat cancer.
“Amos is an LDS bishop in Arizona and a psychological professional counselor at a prison. His first operation was unsuccessful and left him with a colostomy. He has continued as bishop and has been given strength from family and friends and blessings from above to do so,” reads the description below the YouTube video.
Abplanalp’s wife keeps up a daily blog called “Team Amos” to post updates about the family’s journey.
