Utah Grizzlies head coach and General Manager Tim Branham announced Tuesday that the team has signed defenseman Evan Stoflet.

Stoflet, a Utah resident, returns to the team for the third time after previously playing for the Grizzlies from 2008-2009 and 2012-2013 totaling 134 games, five goals, 23 assists and a plus-seven in a Utah uniform. His plus-21 with Utah in 2008-2009 is the team’s third highest since 2000-2001.

“It is great to have Evan back in a Grizzlies uniform,” Branham said. “I will be relying on him both on and off the ice to continue our winning ways.”

Stoflet has spent the last two seasons in China and previously played in Denmark. He has also played in the ECHL with Bakersfield and Elmira since starting his professional career in Utah in 2008 after four years of college at the University of Vermont.

The Grizzlies open the 2016-2017 season Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14 and 15, against Idaho at Maverik Center.

Utah hosts Idaho in preseason action at the Utah Olympic Oval on Monday, Oct. 10. Tickets are $10 and available at the Oval.

Season tickets for the 2016-2017 season along with group and holiday party packages are on sale now. Visit the Grizzlies website or call (801) 988-8000 for more information. Individual tickets go on sale in September.
