SALT LAKE CITY — Rep. John Curtis, R-Utah, has announced that Lorie Fowlke, longtime Utah attorney and a former member of the Utah House of Representatives, will join his Provo office as the district director.
"I'm proud of the talented team we are assembling in Utah and in Washington to serve the people of Utah's 3rd Congressional District," Curtis said in a statement. "Lorie brings significant experience to our team in the complex issue areas of the district, and I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to our office."
For many years, Fowlke has served as an attorney in Utah County, most recently in her own practice, Scribner Fowlke. She served as a legislator from 2004-2010.
Fowlke graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's in law enforcement and received her law degree from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School.
Before attending law school, Fowlke became the first female police officer hired by the Santa Barbara Police Department in California.
