Report: Utes to play in MGM Grand event next season

According to FanRag Sports, the University of Utah men's basketball team will be among the headliners for the 2017 MGM Grand Main Event tournament.

This last season, BYU was among the "heavyweight" participants and finished second in the event, losing to Valparaiso in the final game, 92-89. Southern Utah was also a participant, but in the "middleweight" bracket and fell to tournament foes Coastal Carolina and Ball State.

2017 will mark the fourth year of the tournament.
