WOODS CROSS — Recent charges filed against Woods Cross High School's baseball coach allege that he showed pornographic images to three male juveniles.

Trevor J. Amicone, 29, was charged Friday in 2nd District Court with three counts of dealing in harmful material to a minor by an adult, a third-degree felony.

Police reached out to "several witnesses" in connection with the case, court documents say.

One person told police Amicone had shown him photos and a video of a "naked female." Another witness reported the same thing and also said the female in the video was performing a sex act with herself.

A third person also said Amicone had shown him an explicit video of a female.

All three "were under the age of 18 when the defendant showed them the pornographic material," according to court documents.

Amicone is head coach of Wood Cross High's baseball team and also teaches U.S. History there, according to the school's website. When contacted Tuesday by the Deseret News, Davis County School District spokesman Chris Williams said he was unaware of the allegations and didn't know whether the alleged victims were students in his school district.

Williams also didn't immediately know whether Amicone had been placed on leave by Woods Cross High or whether the school had taken any other action in light of the charges.

Amicone lives in North Salt Lake, court records indicate. The investigation preceding the charges was conducted by Woods Cross police, also according to court records.

The charges state that Amicone's alleged actions took place "between September 1, 2015 and June 1 2016."

Amicone's initial court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 27 in Farmington.

Amicone, whose Facebook profile also says he is the "director of Broadcasting and Media Relations" for the Orem Owlz, is part of a prominent baseball family in Utah. His father, Marc Amicone, is general manager of the Salt Lake Bees and his mother, Mary Kay Amicone, is the softball head coach at Weber State University.

Amicone also wrote articles as a Deseret Connect contributor in 2012 and 2013.

Amicone has no significant prior criminal history in Utah, court records show.
