PROVO — BYU used a solid showing throughout to beat the San Diego Toreros 82-70 on Thursday night at the Marriott Center.

The Cougars opened up an 18-point lead in the first half before seeing it get cut to seven at intermission. Dave Rose's club stretched the lead back to 11 early in the second half, however, and it stayed in double digits over the final 10:44 of the night.
