As an attendee of his town hall, I feel the need to respond to Mr. Chaffetz’s ridiculous allegations that the folks there were not Utahns. The crowd contained only Utah locals.
There was one gentleman, seated perhaps a dozen rows in front of me, who identified himself as a Chaffetz and Trump voter and who asked what we can do to bring our country together. We have an answer: We must come together around our American values. We must agree on honesty and loyalty to our country rather than to party or to self-enrichment. When we work from these shared values, we can reach reasonable policy solutions on any number of issues.
If Mr. Chaffetz can't use his office to uphold our values, we must replace him in the primary or in the general election.
