EDEN, Weber County — A mudslide damaged one home and threatened three others Tuesday evening in Eden, police confirmed.

The slide, measured at 150 feet across and 300 feet long, was report shortly after 6:30 p.m. at 1970 N. 3775 East. It caused "a little bit of exterior damage" to one home and necessitated the evacuation of three others as a precaution, said Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Horton.

"(The slide area) is extremely unstable right now. We'll be monitoring it through the night," Horton said.

Horton said he hoped low temperatures overnight might help stabilize the area.

Nobody was injured in the slide. The American Red Cross was called to assist the four affected families.

Geologists were expected to evaluate the site Wednesday morning, Horton said.

The Weber County Engineering Division and Rocky Mountain Power also responded to the site of the slide Tuesday night.
