Dixie State junior relief pitcher Tanner Howell was named Pacific West Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for his efforts in the Trailblazers' series win over Concordia-Irvine last weekend.
Howell (RHP; Boulder City, Nevada/Boulder City HS) collected two saves in Dixie State’s three victories over the Eagles as he worked two combined innings of one-hit scoreless relief with a pair of strikeouts. On the season, Howell has appeared in eight games out of the Trailblazer bullpen and owns a 2.08 ERA with nine strikeouts in 8.2 innings pitched on the season.
After five-straight weeks at home, Dixie State heads out on the road for a crucial four-game series at PacWest rival California Baptist this Thursday through Saturday, March 16-18, in Riverside.
